Kobataen, an established tea producer started as a tea farmer, dates back to the mid-EDO Era in Ujitawara Town of Kyoto Japan, birthplace of Japanese green tea. We have inherited craftsmanship, cultivation expertise, and proven technology to select quality tea leaves. We have many qualified appraisers and instructors with high skills and received a number of world awards with our prominent inherited techniques to create superior green tea. We have started a wholesale in 1870 and mail-order business in 1920. And was incorporated as a company in 1962.
